Fantastic Science is a project for short films on the power of intuition in scientific discoveries. What happens when evidence meets the in-explicable?
The voice of a woman –”intuition”– guides us through a mysterious journey in which mathematicians, physicists and astrophysicists reconstruct a moment of enlightenment in their research. The narration and its visualization are a free interpretation of the scientists’ experience and mix real scenes with fantastical images representing the unconsciousn.
I worked together with mathematician and astrophysicist Stavros Ivanovski Lambrov to find a way to express what is really in-explicable: a moment of intuition. We spent quite a bit of time talking, taking notes, digging into his memories and persuing. I am very grateful to him for the precious time he gave me. The editor Marco Marchioli joined the project, creating the visuals for its first promo.
